DESCRIPTION
Mixture of Smoking Remediating Herbs Field of Invention
The present invention relates to a mixture of smokable herbs, which (1) are part of a method of smoking cessation and (2) help to clean and regenerate the lung of the tobacco smoker.
Background of the invention
There are herbal cigarettes and herbal packets for rolling cigarettes on the market. These mixtures are presented as tobacco substitutes: smokable herbal mixtures without nicotine.
Tobacco contains a large number of compounds that are potential physiological assets (between 3000 and 4000), with nicotine being the main agent responsible for tobacco addiction.
However, tobacco addiction is not limited to the pharmacological effect of nicotine. Many mechanisms of addiction have been identified, including psychological and social factors. Therefore, it is considered that in smoking there is mainly a juxtaposition of two addictions: one physiological to nicotine and another psychological or mental.
In order to facilitate tobacco cessation, different nicotine replacement and abandonment therapies have been introduced to the market, including transdermal nicotine patches, nicotine gum, sublingual nicotine tablets, nicotine candies, Nicotine nasal spray, nicotine inhalers, etc. These therapies have the disadvantage that smoking should be abandoned from the first moment, which in most cases is very difficult for smokers due to mental addiction to smoking.
Other therapeutic agents act on the symptoms of tobacco cessation itself, such as antidepressants such as Bupropion, but have the disadvantage of its side effects such as headaches, aggressiveness, mood swings, tachycardia, hypertension, dizziness, sleep disorders, depression, muscle pain, etc. This makes Bupropion only prescribed for large smokers.
Cigarette herbal cigarettes, which comprise several components of different herbs, are a nicotine-free alternative to tobacco cigarettes. The purpose of smokable herbal cigarettes is to satisfy the smoker's desire to smoke something, without administering the addictive nicotine. Often the compositions of smokable herbs are selected so that when smoked they provide a sedative effect to the smoker. Thus, for example, US Patent 6407234, describes a composition of smoking tobacco substitutes containing Vebscum thapsus, a component of algae, Medicago sativa and Symphytum officinale, to be used in both cigarettes and pipes, which produces a decrease in desire to smoke
EP 1201142 A1 describes a method to eliminate or reduce smoking. The objective of this method is similar to that of the present invention, since its authors have also recognized that the use of the usual means of abandoning nicotine, such as tablets, candies or transdermal nicotine patches, does not prevent the smoker's desire to take a cigarette As in the present invention, cigarettes containing a mixture of smokable medicinal herbs and tobacco are used, but the

Herbs used in this patent are different from those that are the subject of the present invention. The smokable herb mixture of EP 1201142 is selected from a long list of 47 medicinal herbs, changing the composition of the herb mixture in each of the treatment phases, according to the only example provided by the patent. The treatment phases have a preferred duration of only 8 days.
Publication WO 2006097447 A1 describes the use of nicotine-free herbal cigarettes, in combination with a nicotine withdrawal or replacement therapy. The nicotine-free herbal cigarettes described in this publication contain smoked plants, herbs and legumes. In particular, these herbal cigarettes comprise components selected from 82 different herbs, no example of any preferred combination being provided.
Although different mixtures of smokable herbs have been described, as well as the use of such mixtures to eliminate or reduce smoking, the described mixtures are very complex, not having described a simple mixture that in addition to achieving smoking cessation helps the cleaning and regeneration of the lung, nor its use, in accordance with a phased method, which allows total disinhabitation, without relapse effect, and with ease of compliance.
Summary of the Invention
The present invention relates to a mixture of smokable herbs, which (1) are part of a method of smoking cessation and (2) help to clean and regenerate the lung of the tobacco smoker. The process of nicotine detoxification is used to introduce active chemical principles of plant origin that contribute to enhance the natural purifying mechanisms of the body itself.
The mixture of smokable herbs of the present invention is limited to a mixture of only 5 remedial herbs, of which 3 of them have not been used in other mixtures of smokable herbs, previously described. In addition, the 5 remedial herbs used in the mixture of the present invention have properties related to the respiratory system that make them particularly useful for cleaning and regenerating the lungs.
The mixture of smokable remedial herbs of the present invention consists of a mixture of:
• Mauve flower
• Elderflower
• Luisa grass leaves
• Oregano leaves
• Corn Styles
sorted by qualitative relevance.
Mauve flower is an expectorant for diseases of the respiratory system. Elderflower also has positive effects for the respiratory system in general. Maria Luisa leaves have an antioxidant effect, with a slight sedative effect, since they contain a significant amount of melatonin that is a natural relaxant and promotes nighttime sleep. Oregano leaves are also indicated for respiratory diseases and corn styles have a vasodilator effect, among others.

Preferred percentages of the herbs of the present invention are:
• Mauve flower: 5-9%
• Elderflower: 2-4%
• Luisa grass leaves: 25-45%
• Oregano leaves: 30-50%
• Corn styles: 10-20%
The percentages being more preferred:
• Mauve flower: 5.6-8.4%
• Elderflower: 2.4-3.6%
• Luisa grass leaves: 28-42%
• Oregano leaves: 40-48%
• Corn styles: 12-18%
And being the most preferred mixture:
• Mauve flower: 7%
• Elderflower: 3%
• Luisa grass leaves: 35%
• Oregano leaves: 40%
• Corn styles: 15%
The present invention also relates to a method for quitting tobacco characterized in that the person using it follows a five-stage program in which a mixture of remedial herbs with decreasing amounts of tobacco is smoked, starting with 50% mixtures (50% mixture of remedial herbs and 50% tobacco) in a first phase, up to 100% of mixture of remedial herbs in a fifth phase.
The mixture of herbs used in each of the phases has the same composition of the five selected herbs, both qualitative and quantitative, changing only their proportion with respect to the percentage of tobacco that is combined with the mixture of herbs. Maintaining the qualitative and quantitative composition of the herbal mixture during all phases of the treatment has the advantage over other prior art methods of greater ease of compliance.
In particular, the claimed method comprises 5 phases characterized by:
• 1st phase: period of time smoking a mixture of 50% tobacco and 50% of the claimed smoking herb mixture.
• 2nd phase: period of time smoking a mixture of 25% tobacco and 75% of the claimed smoked herb mixture.
• 3rd phase: period of time smoking a mixture of 10% tobacco and 90% of the claimed smoking herb mixture
• 4th phase: period of time smoking a mixture of 5% of tobacco and 95% of the mixture of reclaimed smoking herbs
• 5th phase: period of time smoking only the claimed blend of smoked herbs.

The period of time of each one of the phases can vary from a maximum of 60 days to a minimum of 15 days, depending on each smoker and his habits of consumption, having to incorporate a certain flexibility and adaptation, and at the same time it must be rigorous and disciplined in order to achieve the proposed objective.
Shorter times, such as the 8 days of EP 1201142 A1, are not sufficient for proper adaptation without relapse.
The advantage of the method of the present invention is that it is possible to quit tobacco without the need to fight against a psychic addiction that this causes. With this method, the stress typical of the usual methods (patches, chewing gum, ...) is avoided since smoking can continue according to custom, while the amount of nicotine that is inhaled will be gradually reduced, with a strict schedule , so that physical addiction will disappear without any syndrome. Experience indicates that with the disappearance of physical addiction, psychic addiction is restored and reduced, not only disappearing the need to smoke in the morning, but clearly does not feel like smoking.
Given the radical dilemma of smoking or non-smoking, the mixture claimed in the present invention offers an intermediate possibility. Although smoking is harmful to health, between smoking tobacco and not smoking anything, the present invention provides a mixture of herbs without nicotine, on the one hand to stop smoking tobacco while regenerating the lung and, on the other, having a mixture of smoked herbs without nicotine, which allows smoking on time avoiding relapse in the smoking habit.
Thus, the present invention provides a mixture of smoking remedies whose use allows "smoking cessation".
